Обсуждение: Does Skype outage have anything to do with PostgreSQL?
A colleague of mine told me that he read somewhere that the problem is actually with Skype's billing database, which is PostgreSQL. Does anybody have any more information? -- Mladen Gogala Sr. Oracle DBA 1500 Broadway New York, NY 10036 (212) 329-5251 http://www.vmsinfo.com The Leader in Integrated Media Intelligence Solutions

very true, but I have seen some incompetent DBA's complaining on the database product instead and not agreeing to their own lack of knowledge.
So yes even if it was PostgreSQL, its the team managing it that wasn't doing the right thing.

I am neither a marketing guy nor a troll, I am a DBA who manages several Postgres installations and has a vested interest in the success of PostgreSQL. I devoted quite a bit of time to understanding and learning PostgreSQL which means that I do believe in its success. I was only asking about it. -- Mladen Gogala Sr. Oracle DBA 1500 Broadway New York, NY 10036 (212) 329-5251 www.vmsinfo.com
