One minor point:
ENCODING '<replaceable class="parameter">encoding_name</replaceable>'
+ LOG_VERBOSITY [ <replaceable class="parameter">mode</replaceable> ]
</synopsis>
'[' and ']' are not necessary because the value is no longer optional.
