I have used PowerDesigner from Sybase. It supports Postgresql (amongst
50 other database types, from Oracle, Sybase to postgresql, ANSI SQL
or dBase).
You draw tables, relations and specialisations and with one click on a
button all "create table" and "create trigger" statements are created
for you. It can generate big reports too. If you have an ODBC
connection to your database it can create the database too (or
*change* the current model to the new version)
It has some 'limimations' though
- windoze only (though it might run under VMware)
- it has a, erm, 'professional' price tag
You can download a fully function time-limited evaluation version from
www.sybase.com. (and there seem to be no cracks available..)
I really like it. But database design is just a too small part of my
job to justify the cost...
