Hello!Nice to meet you! I got a installation problem here,can you do me

After I entered "initdb",and began to try the regression test,it gave
out these error messages:
--------destroying old regression database-----------------------
Connection to database 'template1" failed.
PQexec()--There is no connection to the backend.
destroydb:database destroy failed on regression.
--------creating new regression database----------------------
Connection to database 'template1" failed.
PQexec()--There is no connection to the backend.
oy db:database destroy failed on regression.
createdb:database destroy failed on regression.

my platform:intel pentium 200 on linux slackware 3.4
my postgresql version:6.3.2
