Обсуждение: quick q re migration, index, stats
As part of migration to PG 13, I'll be updating Linux as well, thus complete reindex required. So just confirming that I still need to manually run vacuumdb --all --analyze-in-stages? In other words, reindexing doesn'tcapture stats as it processes the rows?

You are right, you still need to calculate statistics. By the way, you only need to rebuild those indexes that contain string data types, unless you want to make use of the new index compression feature in v13. Thanks for pointing that it out; it hadn't occurred to me. But most of our indexes are strings, and we do have some numerictypes that can have duplicates, so I think I'll be lazy and reindex all instead of trying to pick and choose.
