Обсуждение: DESCRIBE eqivalent
I have been churning through the manual at http://www.postgresql.org/idocs/index.php?sql-commands.html but I see no equivalent to the MySQL DESCRIBE command to describe a table. What is the postgresql version of this? Kind regards Kevin -- Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments. \d [tablename] should do the trick. A lot of things are covered in slash commands instead of sql; \? shows a list. you can use EXPLAIN or EXPLAIN ANALYSE (i think this is only available in v7.2 and up).
explain select * from table_name;
