Обсуждение: PostgreSQL Database cluster with multiple different locale settings?
Is it possible to have a database cluster with one database being UNICODE/de_AT.utf and another having UNICODE/koi8.utf8 (or whatever)? I checked a lot, and currently I found only the initdb way to influence --lc-ctype and --lc-collate Thanks! Mario

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean it's simply impossible, or nobody has ever need such a beast? IMO it should be possible apply different locale settings after forking the backend, or am I wrong here?

Some people have asked for it, but because we have some global tables like pg_shadow and pg_database, it is hard to change per database. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 359-1001 + If your life is a hard drive, | 13 Roberts Road + Christ can be your backup. | Newtown Square, Pennsylvania 19073
