Is there any way to change the output of the age function so that it
uses 'months' instead of 'mons', ie, so that the output is:
   7 years 4 months 3 days
instead of
   7 years 4 mons 3 days

I dont think so even we had faced the same problem
may be replace(age(xyz) , 'mons' , 'months' ) is ur best
bet
