The text field type is limited by the segment size (8K you can change and recompled for 32K). If you need to store more than 32K you need to use blob data field. You have to at least tell us how you're connecting to the server. Are you using plsql? Are you using jdbc? php? Roy.

This is completely wrong as of 7.1.X, which the original poster is using. Tuples can be very large in recent versions.
