It should be a good compiler, but very different in its quirks. I suspect most users have been using gcc for a long time, even on platforms that are otherwise dissimilar like Linux vice *BSD. Also note he is on Solaris 2, which is not the most standard of Unix implementations. Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
