Silly question, I've got nice ThinkPad 390E with 128Mb RAM and install Linux+Postgres 6.5.3. Everything work like a charm except strange behaivour when notebook wake up after suspend mode. I noticed a lot of [postmaster] in ps output. Is it normal ? Usually I see like now:4513 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postmaster -i -B 1024 -N 32 -S -4941 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd discove4943 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhosthttpd polit_d4944 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd voting 4945 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd discove4946 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhosthttpd polit_d4947 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd voting 4948 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd discove4949 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhosthttpd polit_d4950 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres localhost httpd voting I have apache+modperl running with persistent connection with postgres using DBI/Apache::DBI. After wake up, all these stuff seems work ok, but probably [postmaster] processes doesn't works, at least I've seen new postgres processes with much more PID's appearing (Apache::DBI should take care about that). I didn't take much attention yet and just asking if there are something special with Postgres interaction with Linux running on notebook (apm stuff) Regards, Oleg _____________________________________________________________ Oleg Bartunov, sci.researcher, hostmaster of AstroNet, Sternberg Astronomical Institute, Moscow University (Russia) Internet: oleg@sai.msu.su, http://www.sai.msu.su/~megera/ phone: +007(095)939-16-83, +007(095)939-23-83
