Nope, they're the things like 1999-01-08.
The harder to read '930214T131030' is also a valid ISO_8601 format.

ISO 8601 specifies periods of time too.
For example, ISO-8601's 'P18Y9M' = 18 years, 9 months.
Would people be interested if I submitted a patch that
converted ISO 8601 "periods of time" to postgresql "intervals"?
