Re: chown 'postgres': invalid user (win2000 install)

At a guess I'd say cygwin doesn't know about the user.
mkpasswd -l >/etc/passwd
should recreate the passwd file including all local users.
pgsql-cygwin is probably the best list to send further problems of this type to.
