passing open connections between processes

hi

i would like to pass open postgres connections from process to process. i'm not sure how slow this is and if it's
technicallyfeasible. i think i should write new malloc, free, strdup and all other memory handling functions for libpq
tostore the link in shared memory. what do you think?
