Today I upgraded a Debian buster box and saw a new kernel image roll
in.  Lo and behold:

$ zgrep 'stack expansion'
/usr/share/doc/linux-image-4.19.0-11-amd64/changelog.gz
    - [powerpc*] Allow 4224 bytes of stack expansion for the signal frame
