That did the trick, thanks! Just for reference: CREATE FUNCTION time_machine ( TIMESPAN ) RETURNS TIMESTAMP AS 'SELECT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP - $1' LANGUAGE 'sql' WITH (iscachable); seems to work. Perhaps it's more complicated than that, though? -itai
