BUT! Do be aware that the default kernel in 12.04 has some "lethally bad" performance problems (http://www.databasesoup.com/2014/11/good-kernel-bad-kernel.html). I recently upgraded some systems from 12.04 to 14.04 with no changes to PostgreSQL and am now happily free of the query timeout errors that had started to plague me. Whether or not that is important to you depends on how you are using PostgreSQL. Cheers, Steve
