For what it's worth, you can just make these entries in your
/etc/sysctl.conf file and it'll do the same thing a little more cleanly:
vm.shmmax = 4294967296
vm.shmmni = 4096
vm.shmall = 1572864
To commit changes made this way:
sysctl -p
