8beta xp install freeze

Hi,

I attempted to install the postgres 8 beta on my Windows XP Pro machine
but it froze near the end of the installation. It had gone through
setting up the service, user accounts and data but hung near the end of
the progress bar. I just killed off the process after about 10 minutes.
The entry in the event viewer is :

Product: PostgreSQL 8.0-beta1 -- The installer has encountered an
unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem
with this package. The error code is 2755. The arguments are: 1601,
C:\Documents and Settings\Andy T\My
Documents\download\postgresql-8.0-beta1-20040809.msi,

The service seems to be running and I can start and stop it but cannot
connect to it.
