Help - can't fix: "recreate_mmaps_after_fork_failed" error

uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.1 EVO 1.3.13(0.62/3/2) 2002-10-13 23:15 i686 unknown
(Windows XP SP1 with latest cygwin and postgres)

I've installed the latest postgres 7.2 and even rebuilt it from source.
I've installed all the required libs
I've also followed the advice to create a .bashrc with the env vars, PGxxx
etc.

However I still get this everytime I run the postmaster:-

      3 [main] postmaster 3100 fixup_mmaps_after_fork: base address fails to

recreate_mmaps_after_fork_failed
     40 [main] postmaster 2428 sync_with_child: child 3100(0x5B4) died
before initialization with status code 0x1

loading dlls
PGSTAT: fork(2): Resource temporarily unavailable

Anyone got any ideas ?
