People have talked about non-cygwin Win32 ports, but the work would
basically require recreating cygwin, and many people don't feel it is
worth it. If there is a particular part of cygwin that doesn't emulate
well, and it can't be fixed in cygwin, we would be interested in perhaps
making that part native to Win32.
