Basically, the number of configuration changes required to setup
replication has gone down; the only thing still needed is to enable
hot_standby (and optionally setting up a replication slot). The
following parameters were changed to make streaming replication possible
at their default values: wal_level, max_wal_senders and
max_replication_slots. Also, pg_hba.conf now allows replication from
localhost by default. Relevant commits are "Change default values for
backup and replication parameters" (f6d6d292) and "Enable replication
connections by default in pg_hba.conf" (be37c212).
The recovery.conf folding into postgresql.conf didn't make it, so not
sure how big a deal this is.
