Обсуждение: Need assistance in Oracle11g to Postgres migration
Dear Team,
We are planning to migrate Oracle 11g (200 GB) to Postgres.
What should be the virtual machine configuration that will host the Postgres?
- the number of cores, RAM and Disc space for the virtual machine.
Warm Regards

Something similar to your Oracle installation, perhaps. The question is way too general for a good answer. Yours, Laurenz Albe
It also depends on various factors like:
1. No of users.
2. Type of application oltp/dss etc
3. Replicated / non replicated
4. The processing capacity based on CPUs/cores
Start with basic configuration and check for performance , and slowly increase the capacity in steps.
There is a site where you can input parameters and get the suggested configuration. I don't have it now.
Thanks
Deepak

You can try this: https://pgtune.leopard.in.ua/#/
Just remember: The parameters are "Somewhere in the ballpark" - meaning that: They are probably o.k., not superb.
