However, it's an access shared lock, so it's not a blocking lock. That should be NOT POSSIBLE (with pg_dump)... sigh, I need an editor.
Hi, do you need an fs-backup or only dumps? You can Backup with Dumps and archived WAL's by using pg_dump + pg_start/stop_backuo(). If you need a fs-backup, maybe xfs_freeze with syncing the complete database (including WAL's) is a solution.
