Streaming replication with a master that has a logical replication subscription

We are setting up a hot standby from a master that has a logical 
subscription configured, but we dont want the logical subscription on 
the hot standby.

Is there a way to tell pg_basebackup to skip logical subscriptions? Or 
can I drop the subscription while the standby is not yet promoted?
