-announce list administration

Hello,

I know this has been raised before; but I want to talk about it again: I
believe that we are having problems with list administration.

I sent an e-mail to -announce about RPM stuff. David's post, which was
sent after me, went to the lists; however I am still waiting for mine.
The problem is: It was urgent; and by this minute it is useless since we
are about to release new sets.

If -announce is not the right way to send announces to people, I will
send these e-mails to -hackers and -general from now on.

To -announce list administrators: Please take care of that list more.

Regards,

If you have something urgent, you should post here or to slaves-to-the-www
that it's pending. -announce gets a *lot* of spam in the hold queue.

David's post went through because PWN is precleared, as are my posts about
releases.

There are three moderators for the -announce list:

 xzilla@users.sourceforge.net',
 greg@turnstep.com'

  and me ...

If you post something to hte list, and it doesn't go through within 24 hours,
please email all three of us to give us a nudge ...

David's goes through without moderator intervention for the News posting he
does weekly ... we got tired of being nudged :)

If someone else would like to be added as a moderator, please feel free to pop
up ... same with any of the other lists that you may have a particular interest
in ...
