I need help....
 

  • The version of Postgres  is 6.4.2

  • My operating system is Linux RedHat v5.1 Elf

  • The hardware is Pentium 200

    Creating the database installation from the Postgres superuser account  by typing 

  • $ initdb
    does not seem to be working.
    The errors given are:
     _Running: postgres -boot -C -F -D/usr/local/pgsql/data -Q template1       syntax error 2305 : parse error    
    ...
    _ERROR:  pg_atoi: error in "template1": can't parse "template1"
_ERROR:  pg_atoi: error in "template1": can't parse "template1"
initdb: could not log template database
