It looks like there is no free solution to hooking to a
MSACCESS or MSSQL db through odbc in linux, please tell
me there is a way. :)

Your question seems off topic for a PostgreSQL list, but...take a look
at freetds for hooking to MSSQL from *nix. I don't know if there is a
way to get to MSAccess from linux.
