I have just noticed that psql's \timing does not apply to internal commnds like \copy, which surprised me a bit. Is there any reason why it should not apply at least in the case of \copy, which after all does real work, as opposed to to the client housekeeping and info functions that most psql internal commands perform? cheers andrew
