I like the information_schema namespace included in 7.4, but it at the 
moment it's rather unusable to me because most views are restricted to 
showing only objects owned by the current_user. I regularly need ALL 
objects visible, as long as the user has rights on it.

You're welcome to read up on the SQL spec for Information_schema, but
the spec (to me) declares that the current_user must own or be able to
modify the object to see it.

I'll agree it makes the information_schema somewhat less useful.
