I'd vote for the second choice. I do not think we should be adding new
features now. Also, I don't know about you, but I have enough bug fix,
testing, and documentation work to keep me busy till January even
without any new features...

We just today discovered that we didn't understand the interaction
between VACUUM and TOAST well enough. How well do you think we
understand this new VACUUM behavior that no one but Vadim has even
seen?

My initial guess is that he's seeing the VACUUM patch tickling a
syscache-entry-drop problem --- if so, it shouldn't be a problem in 7.1
--- but I have no evidence for that guess yet. I'm sure not confident
enough of the guess to not be afraid of dropping the patch into 7.1.

One is a compile time option (CFLAGS+=-DMMNB), the other doesn't
happen unless you ask for it:
