Dear list, 7.3.x has CREATE OR REPLACE { VIEW | FUNCTION | TABLE ... }, but it lacks CREATE OR REPLACE AGGREGATE, which may be a boon to ten-thumbed users like me ... Is that an oversight, or is there deeper reasons to this omission ? Emmanuel Charpentier -- Emmanuel Charpentier

I think you are mistaken. While there are create or replace commands for functions and views, there isn't one for tables.

Lack of implementation effort; lack of demand for feature. Is it really that useful, as compared to dropping and remaking the aggregate? regards, tom lane
