Обсуждение: tools and apps for PostgreSQL
Greetings all, We're compiling a list of open source applications and tools that work on top of PostgreSQL - primarily administrative and management modules, although full-fledged applications would be welcome as well. I've seeded the list with four well-known apps - PgAdmin, pgAccess, phpPgAdmin, and Interactive PostgreSQL for Windows; we'd like to invite the community to help us fill out the list, which we'll commit to maintaining for the long haul. Comments welcome. Thanks, Ned Lilly
Sheesh, apologies... the list is at http://www.greatbridge.com/tools/toollist.php Thanks, Ned Ned Lilly wrote: > Greetings all, > > We're compiling a list of open source applications and tools that > work on top of PostgreSQL - primarily administrative and management > modules, although full-fledged applications would be welcome as > well. > > I've seeded the list with four well-known apps - PgAdmin, pgAccess, > phpPgAdmin, and Interactive PostgreSQL for Windows; we'd like to > invite the community to help us fill out the list, which we'll > commit to maintaining for the long haul. > > Comments welcome. > > Thanks, > Ned Lilly

Ned, does this include applications distributed with the postgresql source? Also I wonder if it includes stuff like SQL tools. I guess it does since the list includes kpsql and pgbash, but then why not psql or mpsql (the motif version of kpsql)? And how about development? ECPG comes to my mind. :-) Michael -- Michael Meskes Michael@Fam-Meskes.De Go SF 49ers! Go Rhein Fire! Use Debian GNU/Linux! Use PostgreSQL!
Our initial thought was that it would be separate apps, not counting things that already came in the main source distro... but it was just that, an initial thought. If it would make more sense to categorize them separately, we're all for that. As a heads-up for the list, Great Bridge is building a project hosting infrastructure that we would like to make available to selected Postgres-related open source software, and this list is spade work for that project. So please, everyone, feel free to add whatever apps or tools you think belong there - and if we need new categories for the drop-down list (or should change the existing ones), please email me directly.
