Hi,
I just installed postgresql 8.3 on my windows xp desktop. For some reason, I am not able to start it as a service from the control panel (I have set it to start manually). But if I bring up pgAdmin III UI, I can connect to the db from there.
any ideas on how to get the windows service working?

Hi, You need to give more information - what error messages are you getting, if any, etc. etc. It would be a good idea too to post to the pgsql-general list, which deals with PostgreSQL issues and where you may have a wider audience - this list is for PgAdmin only.
