Thank You for help with postgres

thanks for everyone who adviced me few weeks ago with plpgsql and DBI::DBD! 
my application runs now about 5 times faster than before. mostly because of 
plpgsql but use of placeholders made it much faster, too. i think they make 
code a little bit less readable but they sure are worth of it.
