What I was looking for here was something I could add to cron on a machine
that would update the source, do a base configure (or give me the ability
to give extra options, as the case may be), build, install and test, and
report errors to me via email where applicable ...
The idea is that it could be something that ppl could have run nightly, in
the wee hours, and only when a problem occurs would they be informed so
taht they coudl either fix teh error (ie. out of space), or report it to
the list(s) ...
