Postgress 6.5.3 on Irix 6.5.x?

I'm trying to compile Postgres6.5.3 on Irix 6.5.4, and it's not working.

Do you know if anyone has already done it, or if it's (relatively) easily
possible, or where I might find more information?

At the moment, Irix 6.5.4 is my only real option.
