RAM

We are looking at implementing a Postgresql database in a web system. 
The web will generate a large number of reads and writes.  If possible
we would like to reserve a large chunk of the RAM for postgresql.

Is there any way to configure Postgresql to 'grab' a specified amount of
RAM at startup?
